MICUL UNIVERS / THE LITTLE UNIVERSE

MICUL UNIVERS

(domnului Marin Sorescu)

„Hai să credem tot ce spunem…”

Prieteni buni,

am fost încă din copilărie.

Cât era ziulica de lungă

ne zbenguiam prin Univers,

călărind pe câte-o cometă,

jucând fotbal cu planetele

şi fabulând câte-n lună şi în stele!

Seara,

căutam prin iarbă

stele căzătoare!

Câteodată ne luam la întrecere

care din noi culege mai multe stele!

La început,

ne jucam de-a soldaţii,

punându-ne stele pe umăr

sau agăţându-le pe piept

în loc de medalii.

Apoi,

ţi le-am pus în păr,

spunându-ţi că te iubesc.

Atunci, în ochii noştri

sclipeau stelele dorinţei…

Şi astfel, din stele,

s-a născut copilul nostru.

A venit la noi ca un meteorit

si l-am invăţat şi pe el

să se joace cu universul.

Anii au trecut…

Copilul a crescut şi

a plecat ca o cometă,

pe alta planetă,

după o stea.

Am rămas iar noi,

singuri,

doi bătrâni,

visând la universul copilăriei noastre.

Ochii ni se închid încet

şi dispărem fără urmă

într-un alt univers,

fără planete, fără stele

şi fără comete…

acolo,

unde domneşte doar

CRUCEA…

Crucea Sudului!

THE LITTLE UNIVERSE

(dedicated to Mr. Marin Sorescu)

„Let’s believe all that we say…”

We were lovely friends

from our childhood.

As long as the day was

we frolicked through the Universe,

riding on a comet,

playing football with the planets

and babbling like pigeons.

At night,

we searched the grass

for falling stars!

Sometimes we challenged each other:

which of us could collect more stars?

At the beginning,

we pretended we were soldiers,

placing the stars on our shoulders

or hanging them like medals.

Afterwards,

I placed them in your hair,

telling you that I loved you.

Then, in our eyes

the stars of desire glittered…

And thus, from the stars,

our child was born.

He arrived to us like a meteorite

and we also taught him

how to play with the Universe.

The years passed…

The child grew up and

left like a comet,

to another planet,

following a star.

We were left, us,

alone,

two oldies,

dreaming of the Universe

of our childhood.

Our eyes close slowly

and we disappear without trace

into another universe,

without planets,

without stars

and without comets…

there,

where the only reign

is that of the CROSS,

the Southern Cross!

RUGĂ

Trei flori,

o porumbiţă, iarbă verde…

O, Doamne, dă-mi măcar

doar câţiva ani în dar!

Dar dă-mi atâţi câţi se cuvine

să-mi pot vedea nepoţii mari,

să pun un pas pe Lună,

de care-mi este dor

şi unul col’ pe Marte

şi-apoi pot să… mor!

În timpul viitor,

arată-mi Universul

şi-arată-mi calea bună

ce duce-acolo-n cer.

Nu îţi cer nemurirea,

dar, nici n-aş vrea să pier…

O, Doamne,

fă-mi în voie,

dă-mi ani-câţi am nevoie,

să-mi pot permite,

o, Doamne sfinte…

necunoscutul să-l dezvălui.

Şi apoi, Ţie mă-nchin,

poţi să mă laşi să mor puţin

pe un câmp cu iarbă verde

şi la cap cu trei flori,

cu-o porumbiţă-n braţe

şi-un teanc de carţi noi,

să am ce să citesc

atunci când mă trezesc…

la Judecata de Apoi!

PRAYER

Three blossoms,

a dove,

green grass…

O, God,

give me a gift

of some extra years at least!

But give me as many as I need

to see my grandchildren grown,

to put a foot on the Moon

which I long for

and another there on Mars

and then I can… pass away!

In a future time,

show me the Universe

and show me the right path

which leads to the sky.

I don’t ask for eternal life

but neither do I want to perish…

O, God,

fulfil my wish,

give me as many years as I need

so I can afford

O, Holy God,

to unravel the unknown…

And then, I’ll obey you,

And I’ll agree

to let me die a little

on a green meadow

with three blossoms near my head,

a white dove in my arms

and a stack of new books

so I’ll have something to read

if I wake up…

on Judgement Day!

veţi trăi in armonie

cu Universul

I’M HAPPY

Every morning

When I wake up, I’m happy!

I’m happy that it’s sunny,

I’m happy that it’s cloudy,

I’m happy that I’m alive!

People, be happy

when you wake up in the morning!

You’ll have a better day,

you’ll be healthier

you’ll be more understanding

with your surroundings!

You’ll be kinder to yourselves,

you’ll be kinder to others

you’ll be more loved by those around you,

People will love you,

Animals will love you,

Plants will love you

And thus

you’ll live in harmony

with the Universe!

DIALOG CU LADY DI

(poetei Maria Diana Popescu)
(Mr G)

Ce mai faci,

ce mai zici?
(Lady Di)

Nu mai zic,

nu mai fac nimic de la o vreme…

mut lumina de la soare la umbră

să nu se ofilească,

stau de vorbă cu umbra

agaţată de strigarea mea,

văruiesc ziduri de lux

pentru pisici şi fantome.

Pe înserat stau de vorbă cu Pământul,

Dar…

şi acesta este al lui Dumnezeu

şi Dumnezeu se mai răzgândeşte!
(Mr G)

În inima ta,

am descoperit un buchet de flori

care,

din când în când,

dar destul de des,

îl dăruieşti prietenilor dragi

pentru a-i face fericiţi.
Aceştia, la rândul lor,

te răsplătesc cu o mângâiere

pe fruntea ta de poet.

Se creează astfel

o armonie divină

care te face să sari

mai uşor peste

găurile negre ale Universului.

DIALOGUE WITH LADY DI

(dedicated to the poetess Maria Diana Popescu)

Mr G:

How are you

how’s it going?

Lady Di:

I won’t say

I haven’t done anything for some time…

I move the sunlight into the shade

so that it doesn’t wither,

I talk to the shade

hanging from my scream,

I paint luxury walls

for cats and phantoms.

At dusk I talk to the Earth,

But…

even this belongs to God

and God often changes his mind!

Mr G:

In your heart,

I discovered a bunch of flowers

which

sometimes

– but pretty often –

you offer to dear friends

to make them happy.

In turn, they

reward you with a caress

on your poet’s forehead.

A divine harmony

is thus created

which makes it easier

to hop

through the black holes

of the Universe.
